President’s Welcome
Welcome to the official website of the Delta Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.
For more than 116 years, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has been committed to service, sisterhood, and leadership. For 79 years, the women of Delta Nu Omega Chapter have proudly carried that legacy forward by partnering with our local communities and providing meaningful service to all mankind.
Chartered in 1947, Delta Nu Omega is the fourth graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in New York State. Located in historic Rochester, New York—one of the final stops on the Underground Railroad—our chapter proudly serves as a catalyst for change and a source of hope throughout the Greater Rochester community.
We remain deeply committed to honoring the vision of our charter members by leading transformational change rooted in a rich legacy of service. Through impactful programming, strategic partnerships, and purposeful engagement, Delta Nu Omega continues to uplift individuals and families while addressing critical community needs.
Under the leadership of our International President and CEO, Danette Anthony Reed, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is advancing the 2022–2026 International Program theme, “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.” This administration focuses on six initiatives:
- Strengthen Our Sisterhood
- Empower Our Families
- Build Our Economic Wealth
- Enhance Our Environment
- Advocate for Social Justice
- Uplift Our Local Community
The members of Delta Nu Omega Chapter truly soar to greater heights through our dedication to strong sisterly bonds and exceptional community service. We continuously seek opportunities to engage with the community, collaborate with valued partners, and deliver programs that are both impactful and sustainable.
This past year, Delta Nu Omega was honored to receive a grant under the Uplift Our Local Community initiative for our program, “SOAR Second Chances.” Through this effort, we support women who are incarcerated, women experiencing homelessness, and children who have lost loved ones to homicide—because everyone deserves a second chance. In partnership with the Rochester Twenty Pearls Foundation, we have proudly awarded over $200,000 in college scholarships to local high school students over the past 20 years, helping to invest in the future leaders of our community.
We warmly invite you to explore our website, attend our public programs and events, and support our ongoing initiatives. Please visit often to stay informed about upcoming activities. Together, we can continue our legacy of excellence in Service to All Mankind®.
